Never borrow more money than you have saved up

When you watch the typical late night infomercial or peruse the Internet, you will be bombarded with numerous ways to make money, and this is the precise problem with American society. Everyone is concerned with "making money" instead of saving money. We are constantly told how much athletes, musicians, and actors make per year, and Americans are suckered into believing that you must generate a six figure income in order to succeed. This is far from the truth, and the image of the millionaire that the media has fed us is even further from the truth. Contrary to popular belief, most millionaires do not purchase Ferraris, expensive watches, or mansions. Many of them live in modest homes, and you would never know they were millionaires if you walked passed them on the street. Unfortunately, this weave of deception has caused tremendous problems in our society. When people are constantly told that material possessions and a high income equal happiness, it is not surprising to see that so many people are broke, in debt, and unhappy. Another cause of this problem is the American school system. It should be noted that an entire book could be written just on this subject alone, but when was the last time you heard of a personal finance class being taught at the typical American elementary school or high school? Or any type of high school course focused on teaching you the details of credit, debt and mortgages. Most people in America graduate from high school not knowing the basics of how to manage their personal finances, but it isn’t long before they receive their first credit card offer in the mail. Why our educational system is lacking in this area? The answer should be obvious: Our society does not have a vested interest in teaching students the importance of personal finance, since their ignorance of it is the key to the profitability of lending companies within the society. This book will give you the personal finance lesson that the school system will not each you. This book will tell you the truth about finance, and give you powerful tips and tricks that you won't find in any other book on the subject. It could be argued that the ability to manage your personal finances is the most important tool you can gain while you're in school. Indeed, there is little you can do without this valuable skill, especially since we live in a society that is based on capitalism.
